Urban Wilderness: A Foraging Tour of City Hall

Calling all urban adventurers! Looking for hidden gems to explore? We've got you covered. Edible Garden City is stoked to host a foraging tour of two rooftop farms located right within the City Hall district, comprising of our never-seen-before Raffles City Rooftop Farm that is typically closed to the public and the Funan Urban Farm.

The morning starts at Raffles City (yes, that Raffles City, right at City Hall MRT), where we have a closed-to-the-public rooftop farm. Track the back alleys of the mall before arriving into a green oasis sitting atop the retail spaces. Here, get ready to get ruggedly up-close with nature, as you duck under our lemon tree, press your nose into flowers and taste leaves straight off the trees. Finally, enjoy a short hands-on tea brewing session while taking a breather sitting on overturned pots.

We then adjourn together to Funan Urban Farm, just a short walk from Raffles City. A multi-sensory tour of the 7th floor garden awaits. Indulge your senses in fragrant kaffir lime leaves, admire flowering plants and caress taro leaves. Experience nature as intended - with all our senses fully engaged. Following the tour, enjoy a short potting activity; our experienced trainer will guide you on stem propagation, and you get to bring your new little plant baby home as well! The session ends with each participant receiving 2x $5 vouchers from Tiong Bahru Bakery.

We invite you to bring your own mug or drinking container for the tea brewing session if you wish. Please bring your own bag to bring home your newly-adopted plant baby as well.

All attendees regardless of age require a ticket. Please note that the tour will be conducted in English.

The tour will continue in the event of a light drizzle. While we hope for good weather, please bring along ponchos or raincoats just in case.🤞

Due to the nature of the locations, the event cannot continue in extreme weather. If extreme weather occurs before the start of the event and the event is unable to take place on the stipulated day and time, the event will be postponed.
Participants will be notified at least one hour before the start of the event in case of postponement. If extreme weather occurs during the session, the session may be cancelled based on EGC's discretion.

Safe Distancing Measures and frequent cleaning will be implemented to keep participants and trainers safe. The measures include but are not limited to:

1. Anyone displaying flu-like symptoms will be asked to go home, or seek immediate medical attention.

2. Mask-wearing optional, but encouraged.

1. All workshop tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

2. Any exchange of workshop dates or participant names will be considered on case-by-case basis. Participants should inform us of any proposed changes at hello@ediblegardencity.com at least 3 days before the actual day of the workshop.

3. In the case of no-show, late attendance or early departure, no refund, replacement, make-up or exchange will be made.

4. This workshop might be cancelled if the minimum pax requirement is not reached. In that event, you will be notified one day before the stipulated workshop date via email.
